Hello,

Just to let you know that I also have a seagul. We live on the 14 floor in St Leonards and we call our bird Sal. Not sure if it is male or female!! Our bird does the same things as yours, eats out of our hand! We have a dog and the bird just takes no notice of him at all!

The only thing we get fed up with is the continuous knocking on the door a 4am for food!! But our guests enjoy him and think it is really cool to have a seagul of our own. Where do they go to sleep at night??

Regards Jeni.

I would like to dissociate myself from this post, which has been adapted from my blog entry and is embarrassingly inappropriate for a site about picnic spots.

Ahhh, El parque buen retiro.

Many an afternoon spent in one of the small cafes or on the lake. It was actually within the park itself that I came up with the idea of a website showing off the best of Madrid to visitors who speak English. Kind of an undercover reporter. The truth is that Retiro really gets the creative ideas flowing. I just wonder how many famous people found their inspiration there???

I have a detailed article on my thoughts about retiro here: www.madrid-guide-spain.com/retiro.html
